Q:
Why doesn't a function require that you return the same type in a template class?
Why doesn't the class template std::vector require its constructor to take and return an unsigned integer type?
template
class vector {
public:
vector() {}
};
A:
The reason is that a vector is, in general, a sequence of elements of a certain type, and there can be a choice about the type (see e.g. vector v = {};).
The influence of diet and general health on the human immune system.
It is clear from recent research that nutrition plays a key role in immunity. Thus, diet has a significant influence on both individual and community immune function. This article reviews the evidence for the importance of adequate dietary intake on overall immune function. Although it appears that there is an optimal intake range for selected nutrients, such as n-6 and n-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, the relationship between nutrient intake and immune function is more complex than this. Factors such as individual differences in metabolic rate and hormone levels, genetic makeup, past exposure and environmental influences may all have an influence on the relationship between diet and immune status. The mechanisms by which diet influences immune function are also not fully understood. However, the literature is relatively consistent in showing that a diet deficient in essential nutrients such as fat and protein will have significant deleterious effects on immune function. A diet rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals and adequate levels of protein is likely to improve overall immune status. Thus, there is now a need for more research into diet and immune function, and further work is needed to define how diet influences different aspects of immune function and how diet may be influenced by the environment.package com.yahoo.test.SelNG.YUI;
